I work as a partner with each client to understand what's been weighing on their heart and mind, creating individualized plans that feel right for them. I am particularly passionate about helping individuals heal from trauma and address substance and process addictions, along with unhelpful patterns stemming from grief and loss, betrayal, exploitative relationships, family estrangement, and childhood sexual abuse.
I help clients explore their past and current selves to find meaning in their experiences as they move forward. By working together to have a new experience, clients can gradually reorient their automatic reactions to situations. This approach recognizes that healing trauma requires not just cognitive understanding, but embodied experiences that help regulate the nervous system and create new neural pathways for healthier responses to triggers and relational situations.
My clinical experience background spans residential treatment, outpatient services, and crisis response, treating persistent and severe co-occurring disorders through group trauma work and individual counseling in-person and via telehealth. I have specialized training in the Common Elements Treatment Approach (CETA) through the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center, enhancing my evidence-based practice skills to treat PTSD, depression, and stress/anxiety-related disorders. I am currently an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate (ASAT-C).
I join Crescent Wellness Center as a Seattle University Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s Candidate and bring five years of dedicated experience in substance abuse and mental health treatment. Ashley is a Licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) in Washington State.
