Hi there, I’m Sharon. I help people navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, anger, communication and relationship issues, grief and loss, co‑occurring disorders, and both physical and mental health concerns. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and narrative techniques, and often resonates well with individuals facing these concerns.
I work from a holistic perspective, recognizing that our life experiences and relationships shape how we experience stress and joy, and I strive to create a safe, caring space where people feel comfortable sharing, exploring, and healing at their own pace. I have been helping others throughout my life—beginning graduate studies in social work in 1976 before an airplane crash interrupted that path, and later returning to earn my master’s degree in counseling in 2006.
My passion lies in teaching, inspiring, and motivating people to identify challenges and transform them into positive opportunities. In our work together, I listen closely and collaborate with you to identify your goals, breaking them down into manageable, time‑sensitive, and attainable steps.
Our first session will be focused on safety, warmth, ethics, and trust, as I take time to ask questions, listen deeply, and understand your needs, wants, and feelings.
